MAPLA 2009 and MANTEMIN 2009 GATHER MORE THAN 400 PARTICIPANTS

From 4 to 6 November in the city of Antofagasta, Chile, the VI International Mining Plant Maintenance Meeting – MAPLA 2009 and the IV International Mine Equipment Maintenance Meeting – MANTEMIN 2009 took place simultaneously for the first time.

More than 400 professionals met to exchange experiences and innovations with the objective of developing comprehensive management and strategies regarding the shared challenges between plant maintenance and mine maintenance.

Authors from 10 different countries presented a total of 63 papers in the areas of maintenance management, advanced techniques and technological developments, best practices and safety in maintenance. Of the papers presented more than half represented works from national and international mining operations.
